Perthshire Red Stag — Classic Scottish Driven Stalk

Perthshire's famous 'Forest of Atholl' has been the domain of red deer for centuries, supplying venison to Scottish kings. Atholl Estates now offers traditional rifle stalking on 140,000 acres of Highland glen, hill, and ancient woodland. The season opens August 1st — one of the earliest stag seasons in Britain — and runs through October. Hinds and stags can be combined for a unique double trophy hunt.

Stalks are conducted on horseback to the glen floor, then on foot using the terrain and wind to get within range. Your professional stalker has intimate knowledge of every ridge and peat hag. Morning and evening stalks, with afternoons for fly fishing on the River Tilt or grouse walks depending on season.
