Angus Glens Red Stag — Scotland (Velvet & Rut)

The Angus Glens between Dundee and the Cairngorms hold some of Scotland's finest red deer country — a landscape of deep glacial valleys, purple heather moorland, and remnant Scots pine forest. Stags in hard velvet are hunted from late August, with the rut peaking mid-September through October. Trophy quality is exceptional, with mature 12-point 'Royal' stags regularly available.

The Angus Glens Sporting Agency coordinates hunting across multiple private estates, giving you flexibility in terrain and trophy selection. Classic Highland hill stalking on foot — up to 8 miles per day across challenging ground. Deerstalkers' cottages provide atmospheric, comfortable accommodation each evening.
