Trophy Mule Deer Hunt — Trans-Pecos, West Texas
About This Hunt
The Trans-Pecos region of West Texas — the rugged mountain country south of the Davis Mountains and west of the Pecos River — holds some of the most underrated trophy mule deer in North America. Presidio Outfitters operates on 80,000+ acres of private ranch land in Presidio and Brewster counties, where isolated desert mountain ranges produce mature bucks with impressive mass and character.
This is serious country — 5,000-foot mountain ranges, vast grassy basins, and remote desert canyons that require physical fitness and good shooting ability. Hunts are conducted spot-and-stalk style from high vantage points, glassing for bucks in the early morning and late afternoon feeding periods. Horseback access to remote canyons is available. Bucks averaging 170–185" B&C are taken annually.
October and November are prime season as bucks begin pre-rut feeding patterns. Texas mule deer require a state hunting license and mule deer tag. Limited permit availability — book early.
