Alligator Hunt — East Texas Piney Woods

East Texas holds thriving alligator populations in the bayous, river swamps, and oxbow lakes of the Piney Woods and Gulf Coast transition zone. Piney Woods Hunting Co. offers guided alligator hunts on private ranch ponds and flooded timber tracts where gators routinely reach 10–12 feet in length. This is a hands-on, exciting hunt unlike anything else in North America.

Night hunting is the most productive method — spotting gator eye-shine from a flat-bottomed boat, then positioning for a clean shot. Day hunting from blinds over baited sections of bayou is also offered. Large mature males are selectively harvested to maintain healthy population dynamics on managed properties.

Texas alligator hunting requires a state hunting license and alligator tag from Texas Parks & Wildlife. The TPWD alligator season runs September through October on private lands. All hunts include hide and skull preparation assistance. Meat from harvested gators can be processed on request.
