Scimitar-Horned Oryx — UAE Desert

The scimitar-horned oryx was declared extinct in the wild in 2000 but has been spectacularly reintroduced across North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula through UAE-led conservation programs. Today, Abu Dhabi's reserves hold thriving reintroduced populations, and limited trophy hunts are available to fund ongoing conservation and reintroduction efforts.

Emirates Desert Hunting operates within the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency's managed hunting program on private desert reserves in the UAE interior. Scimitar oryx are hunted using spot-and-stalk methods across open desert plains and sabkha terrain.
