Houbara Bustard — UAE, Falconry & Rifle

The houbara bustard is the most culturally significant game bird in the Arab world — the traditional quarry of Arabian falconry practiced for thousands of years. The UAE manages one of the world's largest houbara conservation and hunting programs, with captive-bred birds released annually to sustain sustainable hunt populations.

Abu Dhabi Falconry & Rifle Club offers two pursuit methods: traditional saker/peregrine falconry (the authentic Arab hunting experience) or rifle/shotgun hunting from 4x4 vehicles in the desert. Falconry hunts include an experienced falconer and hunting birds; the cultural experience of watching a trained saker falcon take a houbara in open desert is unforgettable and unique to Arabia.

Houbara hunting is deeply embedded in Emirati culture and the hunt is conducted with great ceremony. Daily bag limits are strictly enforced.
