Free-Range Red Stag — La Pampa, Argentina (The Roar)
About This Hunt
La Pampa Province in central Argentina is home to outstanding free-range red stag populations introduced from European stock a century ago. The March–April rut — locally called 'el brame' or the roar — is Argentina's most exciting hunting event. Stags bellow continuously and respond aggressively to calling, making for high-action pursuits across the pampas grasslands and caldén forest.
La Pampa stags are known for their mass and beam length — the flat, open terrain lets stags grow heavier and wider than their Patagonian cousins. Spot-and-stalk across working estancias, with calling sequences at dawn and dusk. Many properties allow 300"+ SCI animals. Combination hunts with wild boar and blackbuck antelope are extremely popular.
