Argentina's Patagonian foothills hold some of the world's finest free-range red stag populations — descendants of European imports that have thrived and grown extraordinary antlers in the mountain grasslands and mixed forests. The March–April rut (called "the roar") produces spectacular calling action with stags challenging each other for dominance.
