6-Day Rifle Elk Hunt — Montana Bitterroot Valley

The Bitterroot Valley of western Montana offers some of the most accessible yet wild elk hunting in the Rocky Mountain West. Our operation hunts both private ranch land and adjacent national forest, giving us tremendous flexibility to find elk in all conditions. Bull elk numbers are strong, and our success rate on 6x6 bulls runs over 70%.

This hunt is conducted primarily on horseback with ATV access to trailheads. We set up a comfortable base camp on private land and day-hunt into public land from there. Elk in the Bitterroot are vocal throughout October, making this an exciting time to hunt. Bulls can be called in from surprising distances.

Our guides are lifelong Montana hunters who grew up in this country. They know the elk, they know the terrain, and they know how to put you in position for a great shot. All guides are licensed by the state of Montana.

The Bitterroot is also stunning country — the Bitterroot Range towers to the west while the Sapphire Mountains rise to the east. You'll hunt through forests of larch, pine, and fir, along crystal-clear creeks, and across alpine meadows that define the Montana experience.
