Arabian Tahr — Al Hajar Mountains, Oman

The Arabian tahr is one of the rarest and most sought-after mountain trophies in the world — an endemic goat-antelope found only in the Al Hajar Mountains of Oman and the UAE's Hajar range. With a total global population estimated at only 2,000–3,000 animals, a legal hunting opportunity for Arabian tahr is extraordinarily rare and precious.

Oman Mountain Safari holds one of the world's only active permits for Arabian tahr hunting, arranged through the Oman government's conservation-funded trophy quota system. Every hunt is strictly managed — only mature males past breeding age qualify for harvest, ensuring the quota contributes net positive to population genetics. A small portion of the trophy fee funds the Arabian Tahr Conservation Breeding Programme.

Tahr inhabit near-vertical cliff faces and rocky terraces above 1,800 meters. Hunting requires extraordinary fitness and technical mountain skills — this is not a beginner hunt. The combination of extreme rarity, stunning terrain, and legitimate conservation purpose make this one of the most meaningful trophies available anywhere in the world.
