Arabian Ibex — Al Hajar Mountains, Oman

Oman's Al Hajar Mountains hold one of the world's most dramatic hunting landscapes — a vast limestone and dolomite range rising to 3,000 meters above the Gulf of Oman. The Arabian tahr and Arabian ibex inhabit the highest reaches of these ancient mountains in an environment of extreme beauty and demanding physical challenge.

Oman Wilderness Hunting works with the Royal Office of Oman and the Ministry of Environment & Climate Affairs to arrange strictly quota-controlled hunts under Oman's Vision 2040 sustainable wildlife management framework. Arabian ibex populations have recovered significantly under protection programs and limited hunting generates direct conservation funding.

Hunts require serious physical fitness — steep canyon trails and rocky ridgelines at altitude. Ibex are located by spotting from ridgetops, then making careful stalks across near-vertical cliff terrain.
