Military base access with draw-required permit. The McGregor Range produces the highest-quality aoudad rams in New Mexico — bigger, older, and less-pressured than most Texas private land animals.

New Mexico's McGregor Range is managed by the U.S. Army and hosts exceptional aoudad (Barbary sheep) populations in Unit 28. Access requires a background check and coordination with range personnel — our outfitters handle all logistics. The limited hunting pressure produces rams with outstanding horn mass and length compared to many private land aoudad in Texas.

Draw odds for Unit 28 aoudad are favorable relative to most NM big game species. October rut is prime time when rams are most active and visible on the rocky slopes.
