About This Hunt
The Southern Appalachians hold one of the highest black bear densities in the eastern United States, and Tennessee's bear population has grown significantly in recent decades. Smoky Mountain Bear Guides operates in the Cherokee National Forest and adjacent zones bordering Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Hunts are conducted by spot-and-stalk on foot through hardwood ridges and laurel thickets. Archery and rifle seasons available. First-come resident and non-resident tags available over the counter.
