Sambar deer are the largest deer species found in Australia — massive, elk-sized animals with three-tined antlers that rival anything in the Northern Hemisphere. Introduced in the 1860s, Victorian sambar are now fully free-range and represent one of the world's great deer hunting opportunities in spectacular alpine terrain.

Hunt on foot through mountain ash forests, alpine meadows, and high-country drainages of the Victorian Alps. Spot-and-stalk and calling are both effective methods. Over-the-counter tags make this highly accessible compared to many international trophy hunts. Excellent value for a world-class deer.
