Marco Polo Argali — Tajikistan Pamir Mountains
About This Hunt
The Marco Polo argali is the crown jewel of international sheep hunting — the world's largest wild sheep, with rams carrying the most spectacular spiral horns in nature, regularly exceeding 60" in length. Found only in the Pamir and Karakoram ranges of Central Asia, a Marco Polo argali is the ultimate Grand Slam trophy and the centerpiece of every serious sheep hunter's collection.
Pamir Expeditions has operated exclusive hunting concessions in the Tajik Wakhan Corridor for 18 years. Our concession borders the Afghan Wakhan and holds some of the largest argali populations in the region, with rams achieving 58"–70"+ horn measurements. Hunting is conducted from horseback and on foot across the dramatic 14,000–16,000-foot Pamir plateau.
This is a logistically complex expedition requiring international travel through Dushanbe, Ishkashim, and by 4WD and horse to remote base camps. CITES export permits are included. All logistics — visa, permits, transport, and camp — are handled by our team.
