New Zealand Alpine Chamois — Southern Alps, South Island
About This Hunt
Hunt alpine chamois in the dramatic Southern Alps of New Zealand's South Island with Kiwi Wilderness Guides. Chamois were introduced from the European Alps in 1907 and now thrive at 4,000–8,000 ft in terrain that rivals anything in Switzerland. Your 3-day hunt covers steep tussock slopes and rocky bluffs via helicopter access to alpine drop zones. Best horns come from mature billies taken May–June during the rut, or August–September in full winter coat. All-inclusive: helicopter transfers, lodge accommodation, meals, trophy prep, and rifle rental available.
