3-Day Fallow Deer Hunt — California Coastal Range

Fallow deer are among the most stunning trophy animals available in North America — their distinctive palmate antlers and spotted coats make them prized trophies for any collection. Our California coastal range ranch holds an established population of European fallow deer on 8,000 acres of rolling oak woodlands and open grasslands.

Fallow deer bucks are most active and visible during their October–November rut when they can be called into range using a distinctive groaning vocalization unique to the species. Outside of the rut, spot-and-stalk hunting along creek drainages and woodland edges produces excellent results year-round.

Our 4-bedroom lodge sits on a ridgeline with panoramic views of the Pacific coast — you'll wake up to foggy coastal mornings and hunt through stunning California ranch country. All hunts include lodging, meals, and a 1:1 guide ratio.

Fallow deer are classified as an exotic species in California — no California deer tag required. Multiple color phases available including common, menil (spotted), melanistic (black), and the rare white phase.
