California Bighorn Sheep — Oregon Draw Hunt

Oregon's California bighorn sheep population has rebounded dramatically over the past three decades, with huntable herds now established on Hart Mountain, Steens Mountain, and in the lower John Day River canyon country. California bighorn are slightly smaller than Rocky Mountain bighorn but produce exceptional trophies with tight, heavily broomed curls in the 140–165" range.

Oregon California bighorn tags are limited to approximately 30–50 per year across all units. Draw odds are 2–8% depending on the unit. We work with clients on unit selection and application strategy to maximize their draw opportunities.
